Young Collectors' Weekend Global 2024
We invite you to explore “Time,” our inaugural presentation at the first edition of ID in Mumbai, opening on September 27, 2024. Inspired by Salvador Dalí’s iconic 1931 painting, “The Persistence of Memory,” renowned for its surreal depiction of melting clocks draped over a barren landscape, this masterpiece has served as a rich source of inspiration for contemporary designers exploring the theme of time for decades.
The presentation aims to feature four innovative product designers from India, each reflecting the fluidity and ambiguity of time. The pieces will challenge conventional perceptions, blending functionality with artistic expression to create objects that are both practical and thought-provoking. Using textures and materials that age gracefully and visually represent progression or evolution, they symbolize the passage of time.
Visitors will encounter designs that play with forms, textures, and materials, evoking the malleability of time in our modern world. This collection not only honors Dalí’s legacy but also pushes the boundaries of product design, inviting audiences to reflect on the nature of time in their daily lives.
