Zarrin-Fatima Shamsi is a Baroda-trained artist, printmaker, and educator currently based in Kuwait, whose sensitive and organic visual language explores themes of memory, femininity, and nature’s overlooked relics.
Her practice revolves around collecting discarded or natural objects—leaves, seeds, shells—as vessels of unspoken emotion and personal histories. These forms act as metaphors for the body, particularly the female body, evoking narratives of care, decay, and preservation.
She combines drawing, impression, and print techniques to give significance to fragile, forgotten materials, infusing them with tenderness and urgency.
Her subdued palette reflects the quiet strength and vulnerability of the feminine voice. Alongside her art practice, she continues to teach and engage with printmaking in Kuwait.
