Hansika Sharma

Hansika Sharma is a textile artist whose practice centers around the colour indigo, the complexity of embroidered surfaces, and the philosophy of selfreflection.
Indigo, for Hansika, is more than a pigment—it is a soulful medium layered with history, transformation, and emotion. Drawn to its alchemical shift from green to deep blue, she sees in indigo both the melancholy and calm that mirror her own personal journey.
Her work explores themes of inner evolution, human psychology, and sociopolitical narratives through intricate hand embroidery using cotton threads, zaris, and cords.
Since 2020, her forms have organically shifted into root-like and nervous system-inspired patterns—symbolic of strength, life, and the search for spiritual alignment. Hansika’s current series includes small to
large-scale indigo-dyed fabric works that act as visual diary entries, mapping her growth and inner inquiry over the past two years.
