Dhruvil Bavadiya

Dhruvil Bavadiya (b. 2002, Ahmedabad, Gujarat) is a visual artist whose practice explores the ephemeral space between reality and illusion. Currently based in Vadodara, he completed his Diploma in Fine Arts at Sheth C.N. College of Fine Arts, Ahmedabad, and a Post-Diploma in Visual Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University. His work is driven by an instinctive curiosity toward fleeting visual phenomena, shadows, reflections, and shifting light that transform the familiar into the mystical. Drawing particular inspiration from nocturnal landscapes, he examines how darkness reshapes form, allowing silhouettes, architecture, and the human presence to dissolve into layered emotional and spatial narratives.
Working across painting and ceramics, he employs oil pastels, acrylics, oxide pigments, and underglaze to build tactile surfaces that mirror the instability of perception. His compositions often emerge from close observation of overlooked moments, reflections on glass, light on moving water, and transient shadows mapping what exists at the periphery of conscious attention. Through these material and visual explorations, Dhruvil constructs a poetic dialogue between the conscious and subconscious, where the mundane becomes charged with quiet intensity. His practice invites viewers to pause and engage with the subtle thresholds between presence and absence, permanence and disappearance, reality and its imagined double.
