Khushboo

Khushboo, born in 1994 in Karachi, Pakistan, is a versatile artist, educator, researcher, and DIY enthusiast. Her interdisciplinary art practice spans painting, sculpture, and installation, weaving together non-traditional cartographic techniques with archaeological object-making to explore themes of agency, accessibility, and conflict within geopolitical and territorial divisions. Through the creation of fictional parallel archives and narratives using archival materials, Khushboo challenges biases in historical archives and explores alternative methods of archiving, while also delving into the role of language and narrative in exhibition displays.
Currently pursuing a Master of Fine Art at Goldsmiths, University of London (2022-2024), Khushboo’s work draws inspiration from her experiences of relocation from Pakistan to India in 2009, sparking her fascination with maps, borders, and geographical identities. Her practice navigates issues of migration, nationalism, citizenship, and climate change, utilizing para-fiction as a tool for alternative archiving and engaging with colonial documents and archival objects to critique museological practices and challenge colonial legacies. Through her art, Khushboo explores the intricate intersections of memory, identity, and place, inviting viewers to reconsider conventional understandings of history and geography.
