Artist Statement

Harisha's visual language bends more towards abstraction; it portrays what is happening in the Present. It is titled "Portrait of Present". He enjoys exploring his visual language in a more abstract manner by constructing minimal lines and forms on the surface. The space in-between, the collaboration of lines, shapes and colours play a primary role in it.

It is a meditative process for him. Such practice helps him to observe the refined subtle nuances of life.

His work process is very important. He believes in happenings. Instead of choosing all colours from the beginning or having a pre-notion of what is going to be painted, he lets the painting decide. Each layer is an answer to the question asked by the previous layer. That makes each of the paintings something like never before. New image each time, in each layer in each painting
