Eastern Affair by Viraj Mithani is the debut exhibition by Cultivate Art. Over the past year Viraj has produced a new body of work that explores his Indian heritage. The largely abstract works juxtapose Western styles with traditional Indian imagery such as Madhubani, Jain and Mughal Miniatures, Warli and Godna paintings, demonstrating a broad artistic background.

Viraj uses a combination of both traditional printing method with digital prints along with painting to produce these layered and visually complex works. The translucent digitally printed vinyl allows the image below to show through and its glossy surface adds texture to the compositions.

Eastern Affair is a journey through India's rich artistic history seen through contemporary eyes and rich in cultural references from East and West.
